BLUEPOWER IP6048 - The New SunGoldPower 48V Hybrid Competitor to the MPPSolar LVX6048WP

The fans run on my tp6048 all the time. They get louder in the summer time when its warmer in my workshop but are fairly quiet in the winter time.

Sorry for the late reply. They instructed that I do the following:
"Please upgrade your inverter software 1.34 first, then upgrade the software (14.15)"

The adapter I purchased that works with the unit is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B2RJ77NX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Finally, the update adds two items to the config profile. Here is their manual page addition:

Thank you anyway. I did get it working with the same cable that didn't work before BUT with the newer PC software
The one on the CD that came w. the box didn't work, but version 18 I downloaded somewhere does connect via USB.
I was able to configure stuff from the PC.
I am a bit hesitant to upgrade the firmware, the box is working and I don't want to brick it.

about the fans:
I have 2 units
one was purchased over a year ago: fan runs all the time but only gets loud when the load is above 2KW
the newer one purchased around thanks giving 2023: fan runs on full as soon as it is turned on

I put in 2 systems consisting of 16 410 watt panels and an IP6048. Ditto on not getting any PC or App based functionality. Screen interface doable, but a real pain setting changes don't stick 60% of the time. I could not get the secondary output to function based on battery voltage, built my own with a voltage controller and definite purpose contactor off of E-Bay. My latest challenge is I have a 240VAC split phase generator hooked up to the generator input. I can get it to see the generator as an AC input, and it will power my loads, but it will not charge my batteries (tried both solar on and solar off). Oddly the display shows 0hz at the AC input, yet the generator shows 60.1. MReeves78 can you share your settings ? Not sure if there is some setting I'm missing, my batteries were at 47.6 V with a standard 56V bulk, 54V float set up. Thanks Mike
Hi Mike
Did you ever get the generator to charge the batteries?
I am having exactly the same problem right now, now that the power has been off for 2 days...

I installed on of these IP6048's at a friends place last weekend (2.5 hours drive away from me, so its hard to help him out too). Its been nothing but trouble ever since. Throwing error code after error code, turning off unexpectedly, and now F88 error codes. Got it reset and up and running, but the breaker panel is buzzing like people in this thread are talking about  what the hell.

Emailing Cindy back and forth, but its a slow process....

That's probably why they discontinued it. I got mine working but wondering if I should try to sell it and go with microinverters since I don't need a battery right now. But it's cheap and has a lot of features so I'm not sure

LVX6048WP is still available. I'm thinking it was mostly a software failure

I'm going to push for a replacement of an equal value model. This 8kw model looks nice:

Cindy has gone dark for 2 days now, and since they seem to only respond in the later hours of the day (8pm and 1:30am are the last 2 emails) I'm assuming its support from China. Does anybody have another contact? Perhaps stateside?

I got an email this morning at 6am, but it was blank. I responded and asked if this was a mistake? Going on 3 days now with no response from Sungold Power and no solution.

@Crowz I remember you didnt have the same experience, did you?

I contacted them earlier in the day the first time and they responded around around 3:58 am central time. I was able to email back and forth with them almost instantly from that point forward and they had a part mailed to me within 40 minutes. I received the part in 2 days from china.

VERY pleased with the support I received from them. Never had an issue with the inverter since then and in their defense I caused to problem that required the part in the first place :)

I have almost always received decent support from SunGoldPower.

I use these email addresses in all my correspondence:
sales01@sungoldpower.com; tech@sungoldpower.com

My first email for support was to "Reply" to the email I received from SGP provided me with the purchase receipt. This ensured that A: SGP knew I had made a purchase from them and B: provided the purchase number.

In addition for each request I continued the email chain which also helps in maintaining complete documentation.
I have asked for some very specific info pertaining to the firmware and the communication protocols which at first SGP did not seem willing to provide. Being persistent and patient as well as polite did result in SGP sending me the current pdf files for the protocols I asked for.

It may take 24 to 48 hours for a reply. If after a reasonable amount of time you do not receive a reply simply forward the original email request asking for a status. Again, be polite and always provide a "Thank You" for every response from SGP and where appropriate let them know if the help they provided resolved your issue.

Cindy got back to me on the 3rd day saying all their engineers were out on a business trip for a week, and asked if I could wait .

I told her I have already replaced the inverter with something else in the meantime, and asked if I could just get a replacement or even a different inverter with comparable specs. She just responded with the typical "its out of warranty, we only offer tech support".

Basically got told to go pound sand. Awesome.

How could it be of warranty?

I must agree, if it's performing as expected let sleeping dogs lie.

Sadly, I didn't mention that the provided software doesn't work and that one must download SolarPower instead. I brought the issue to their attention which seems to have been a waste of time.

I've just deployed SolarAssistant on a Raspberry Pi and used the micro USB port with a std data cable for connecting. I tried it on the PC and it worked with SolarPower too. Clearly it's another issue with their poorly written/translated manual.

Personally, this unit is an overpriced doorstop and I'll never recommend it to anyone. Next time I'll spend a bit more and buy one that has an established track record for quality and tech support, something like the SolArk 8K comes to mind and for a little more $ maybe the EG4 18K.

Good Luck
