    Paralyzed by information overload

When you wire your loads into the MTS, you re-wire everything I’m guessing? Easier than trying to find and move existing wires.

    Paralyzed by information overload

Okay, so an ATS not really needed with the AIO. And, am I correct that I can either put my loads in a separate sub panel or the MTS? And if I'm using the MTS, I can pretty much always leave them switched into the gen mode since the grid will keep my battery full enough to continually power it?

Can an automatic transfer switch be used? Almost like a "set it and forget it"?

This!!! This is what I needed!! This pulls it all together for me!

    Paralyzed by information overload

Okay, so you can wire the AC input with one end of an extension cord, and put the other end in an outlet. Got it. Otherwise you could wire it directly from it's own circuit in the main panel I'm guessing? But for the output- it seems like a heavy setup just to be able to plug one thing into...

    Paralyzed by information overload

I've seen that video he does on that MPP Solar. I just watched it again. Where I get confused is on the real life application. He's putting two ends of an extension cord to the AC input and output.

What are a few inverters that are battery optional?

    Paralyzed by information overload

I only need a 240v if I'm wanting to run my dryer, stove, etc. right? For an off grid inverter, the 120vAC input is wiring from a circuit breaker?

    Paralyzed by information overload

Which inverter are you specifically talking of that is off grid with GAB?

    Paralyzed by information overload

Victron 48V MultiPlus-II UL1741 3kVA 120V Inverter 35A Charger- This one is UL Listed. I don't really want to go the route of getting involved with the power company and net metering. Off grid, with grid assist sounds like a "hybrid inverter" which can feed the grid. So it's all so confusing.

That's absolutely amazing!! I love to hear where you started from and where you are now!

    Paralyzed by information overload

If I don't get a grid tied system, I'd be moving loads to a separate sub panel, right?

    Paralyzed by information overload

My back yard is surrounded on two sides by trees. We do have a shed in the back of the yard that I could put some panels on; I guess some sun is better than none. In the summer it will get more obviously, but at this time of year with the location of the sun, the top of the shed is completely...

    Do you have Victron stuff?

    Paralyzed by information overload

Yes, I agree. Kind of hard to know what final plan I can get to where I'm at. I'd like to eventually get more panels and put some them on the roof. Husband not on board with that yet. We have a pool in the backyard that takes up a bit of space. So I'm wanting to start with the 4 panels I have...

    Paralyzed by information overload

My main panel (in the basement) is in an inconvenient location to build a setup next to it. So I'm thinking a different location in the basement. Shouldn't be a problem right? Ceiling is open. I can make room for solar panel expansion when husband agrees to let me put panels on the roof. We have...

    Paralyzed by information overload

Thank you. I was thinking if I start even with just one battery, maybe it should be a 48V 100ah LiFePO4.

    Paralyzed by information overload

I have watched so many videos and I think I have it all together until it's time to actually implement something. I'm paralyzed by information overload! I currently have (3) and soon to be a total of (4) solar panels. Each are 370 Watts, 41V and 11amps. Will be making a mobile ground mount for...

Hybrid inverters are the ones I need to power my home with Solar and Grid?

Confusion on meaning of Off Grid vs Grid-tie vs Zero Export

Am I understanding correctly- when you say the inverter has to be capable of powering all the loads connected to it, simply we're talking about the wattage capability of the inverter, if everything that's connected were turned on and being used, it would not exceed the stated wattage capacity of...

Confusion on meaning of Off Grid vs Grid-tie vs Zero Export

Thanks for your response. I don’t mind to hear it, ultimately I want to make the decision on what I end up doing with appropriate understanding of what I’m doing. Do I understand this right- If I have a separate loads panel, I can still use the grid to power those loads when there’s no power...

Confusion on meaning of Off Grid vs Grid-tie vs Zero Export

I've been watching a ton of videos on solar. I'm paralyzed to get anything really going because I'm not sure I 100% fully understand the difference on the types of systems. The semantics are getting to me. I'm basically wanting to start small and expand over time. I have three 370Watt panels...
