Regarding extra space, you can either use the walls of the box for compression (Not advisable for Lishen cells), or have space for external compression (straps, plates, planks), space for the BMS and overhead room for the cabling and a battery fuse.

Hi Skid, Alibaba advertisements aren't always completely accurate as they often cover multiple SKUs. Confirm with Camille that this is a low freq inverter, what its weight is, photos of the insides, and whether it can be built to the voltage/Hz you need (ie 240V and not 220V)

That maybe the factory default setting. You want to choose a DIY friendly BMS that can easily interface to your phone or PC to configure settings and read voltages +/- logging.

I have my 8s square packs compressed with 2 metal straps between 3 ply planks. I haven't noticed the undulations to change whatsoever.

I didn't have a resistor lying around, so I used a 12v PC fan, with stiff/malleable breadboard wires between the fan connector and my grub screws.

The only way I can set [charge : off] via android xiaoxiang is via the cell / pack overvoltage limits. Maybe a Linux tool can manually turn it off - there are a couple of community tools posted here that I haven't tried.

When you set in xiaoxiang "switch function" to Green, discharge is disabled. My AIO inverter will not power on with "discharge : off", and there is a soft audible clunk each time the "switch function" is toggled on/off.
