Game Changer? BLUETTI EP500 Solar Generator 5100wh capacity <$3,000

Sorry about the repeat message. I did a search before I posted, but I searched for EP500 not EB5000. Good question, if the EP500 still qualifies as a solar generator. My thinking is Yes, since it's still a one piece item, with all the equipment necessary to generate useful electricity...

Game Changer? BLUETTI EP500 Solar Generator 5100wh capacity <$3,000

Has UPS function too. I'm pretty excited about this new product from Bluetti. Hopefully Will Prowse will be able to do a full review on it prior to the Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign.

    2000w, 24v solar system

Though You shouldn't have to rely on them. I believe the Battle Born Batteries will shut down (through the internal BMS) before the voltage gets low enough to damage the battery (Check with them to verify). That being said, it's nice to have an inverter where You can adjust the low voltage...

Is BIG BATTERY full of Crap??

Some Solar Controllers have a temperature sensor to regulate the amount of charge to the battery, but I believe this is only used on flooded and perhaps AGM batteries.

Is BIG BATTERY full of Crap??

    That should be interesting :)

Is BIG BATTERY full of Crap??

Great. If You run into a problem getting the temperature low enough, some dry ice would probably do the trick.

    Too many solar panels?

Let's see 10X250 /24 =104 amps. Hope you have plenty of money to shell out for very large electrical cables, good size fuses, and willing to accept the increase fire risk, not to mention spending way more then what You would normally need to for a Solar Charge Controller. Probably a bad idea...

    Bluetti AC200 & AC50S

Good Point. It's possible that many Solar Generators may have some sort of mechanism to prevent damage if the Voltage is exceeded, however there are MPPT's out there where the operating manual warns about possible damage if voltage is exceeded. One such example is the EPEVER Tracer4210AN. I...

    Bluetti AC200 & AC50S

I'm guessing, that there might be some leeway in the lower voltage specifications for some of the units. I would not recommend going over the recommended high voltage spec though, which I think is 150 volts, as most MPPT controllers have very little if any tolerance over the maximum voltage...

    Need Help Please.

The dynamics of generating Electricity from Solar Energy with a small system really isn't that complicated. There's plenty of information and products out there for that purpose. The more difficult part is matching the solar system with the expectations of the end user. This gets even more...

    Bluetti AC200 & AC50S

I used my AC200 to provide power to my Panasonic 1200 watt microwave oven to cook some bacon. The oven required a current of 1950 watts for 4 minutes (according to the AC200 built in watt meter), that the AC200 had no problem delivering. I have also used the AC200 to run a popcorn maker, hair...

Please help. Building My First System!

Roughly speaking the configuration You mentioned above, in the summer, will on average, give You enough power to run the A/C (with the compressor continuously running) for about 5 hours (if no other electrical appliances are used) a day, providing You have the solar cells in a optimum...

    Need Help Please.

Not to make things even more complicated, but performance of most (lead type) batteries drops substantially in very cold conditions. Most battery manufacturers will have charts available showing the performance drop against the temperature of the battery. Also, most Lead Acid Batteries can...

Leoch Power Generator 2048Wh Capacity, 2000watt inverter $1059 USD

Leoch is offering a 2048Wh (LiFePO4) Capacity, 2000W AC Output Generator through Indiegogo at a Super Early Bird Special Price of $1,059 USD (Special Price wouldn't last much longer). I'm not particularly recommending it, but thought some of You would find it interesting and may like it. I...

Need help with selecting the right solar components

I'm assuming You are looking at flexible solar panels. If not, You may wish to consider purchasing 1 300+ watt solar panel. Suntan in Gilbert have them for less then $150. You would want to make sure that the panel, would still work with your other components, and that You can mount it on...

Help explain solar to me, can it work?

keep in mind, that solar energy may not always be dependable either. You could go days with very little electricity generated from a Solar System.

Has anyone done business with this company?

I have one of those units. I notice the web page doesn't say anything if the external monitor comes with it. This unit can be sold with or without the external monitor. Also under the price, it states "1.Size:30A. which is not 40A. I have no complaint against the unit itself. Just make...

    Solar for small school buses.

If You are on a budget, You might wish to skip the solar, and build a Lithium Phosphate Battery. You probably could build a 6,000 watt battery for under $2500, and then charge the batteries every night. Later You could add solar.

    Planning a Skoolie

Here's a guy that uses solar for all his electrical needs, including running his air conditioners, stove etc for his bus. It should give You an idea of what's involved going completely solar. Too many solar panels?

If you don't wish to damage the battery, don't forget to stay within the range of the Battery Specifications . Batteries have a maximum safe rate of charge. Depending on the battery chemistry, the maximum C rate of charge is generally between .1 to 1 C. I heard that one can set the...

    Direct power

The beginning power surge can be substantial. With a proper battery, You could provide power (temporarily) several times that which could be done with solar alone.
