Though You shouldn't have to rely on them. I believe the Battle Born Batteries will shut down (through the internal BMS) before the voltage gets low enough to damage the battery (Check with them to verify). That being said, it's nice to have an inverter where You can adjust the low voltage...

Review of the product:

Some Solar Controllers have a temperature sensor to regulate the amount of charge to the battery, but I believe this is only used on flooded and perhaps AGM batteries.
