Battery heating, yes, I read the threads

I am wondering if your batteries have a metal or plastic casing? The pads I purchased says to apply to non-conductive surfaces. My SOK batteries have metal cases.

Thanks all. That is the info I was looking for.

    Solar Cable Size Confusion

Yes, 4 panels in total, but there will be two different systems. 2 Panels with its own wire run and MPPT. Hope this is clear.

    Solar Cable Size Confusion

Perhaps I should have placed this in the Vehicle Mounted Systems category. This will be on an RV, and the 1700W (2X 850w) will physically max out my roof. Probably should have mentioned this, but I was trying not to cloud the original question on wire size. :)

    Solar Cable Size Confusion

I am getting mixed messages on what size solar cable I need to get for my project. Not sure if I need 10 AWG or 8 AWG. Here is what I am going to be using: (2) 425 Watt panels Each panel is 48.1v VOC and Imp = 10.31A Going to feed a Victron MPPT 150 | 70 Tr charge controller Somewhere around...

Yep, will have some insulation on the floor.

    Battery Stacking

From what I have read, the SOK’s can be positioned on their sides.

    Battery Stacking

Due to the limited space I have available in a compartment bay of my RV, I have to stack my batteries as shown below. I am trying to understand the best way to separate the batteries (if I separate them at all). I am installing (4) SOK 206Ah batteries, that weigh around 48 lbs. each and have...

    Component Distances

Due to compartment sizes and the very large sizes of the batteries and Victron components , I may have to place the MPPT charge controllers in another bay. So, the solar panels will be approximately 12 foot from the MPPTS (8 AWG). Each MPPT will control (2) 425 Watt panels connected in series...

    Where to get Bus Bars?

Your buss bars came out nicely!

    Where to get Bus Bars?

The disconnect switch is continuous rating: 350A and 600A Intermittent. Not sure of the SOK's.

    Where to get Bus Bars?

I love when someone knows that they are doing...I am just fumbling my way through it, but so far my components seem OK. That is why I was logging for a robust Link Bus.

    Where to get Bus Bars?

To be honest, not sure how much I am going to pull. My components are: 4 X 206 SOK Batteries 400a Class T Fuse Blue Sea Systems - Battery Switch 350a continuous 4/0 wire Victron Energy MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50 Going to be running everything in the RV from this...including the AC. BTW, AC is...

    Where to get Bus Bars?

Yes, I believe those will work! Thanks. I did not know they had a name.

    Where to get Bus Bars?

The battery bus bars for cells look similar, but their amperage ratings appear to be smaller that what I would need. Need 300a-350a continuous.

    Where to get Bus Bars?

I have seen many layout photos of systems here on this forum that show bus bars connecting components like the battery On/Off switches to a Victron Lynx Distributors, or to T-Fuse holders, etc. They appear to be around 4"-6" in length. They also do not appear to be copper colored (although they...

Thanks for the update....Looks pretty much my new component list!

    Here's my plan to install a 230V Mini-Split

You are moving along quite nicely! Do you have an updated components list? It is hard to see what all those components are on the pool table. Also, which solar panels did you go with (Watts and physical size)?

    Here's my plan to install a 230V Mini-Split

I don't think I have really come to terms with the OCCC limit yet. It is a tiny nagging issue that I have been avoiding. Power, comfort, feasibility first...OCCC second. :) Hmmm....Wife or cool solar stuff?

    Here's my plan to install a 230V Mini-Split

I hope someone technical can weigh-in on this. From a non-technical viewpoint, I think the pros outweigh the cons. PS. I love the way you layout your plans.

    Here's my plan to install a 230V Mini-Split

I was thinking of using one or two of these for the batteries. The wheels come off to make them smaller. https://bigbattery.com/products/24v-hsky-elite-lfp-228ah-6kwh/

    Here's my plan to install a 230V Mini-Split

Wow! This is pretty much the exact concept I was going for with my soon to be delivered 2021 Winnebago View! One of the keys is the Cassette unit. Unfortunately I have not found a 120v, so 230v will have to do. I was thinking of going a little bigger on the batteries and solar if possible. Call...
