    Questions about portable generators.

Just FYI this is what my current set up looks like minus the DC-DC charger. The grey ovals are fuses. If I do go with the DC-DC charger I would likely go with 8 awg cables, or maybe 10? I'm thinking the cable openings will be similar to what's on the charge controller and 6AWG wouldn't fit...

    Questions about portable generators.

One possibility I am considering is this DC-DC charger (yes, it's an 18 but my thinking is to not put much strain on an old engine, the minivan is a 1993 Mercury Villager with 200k miles on it. Still runs well, though. I want to replace it with something I can stand up in but that will be a...

    Questions about portable generators.

I am looking into purchasing a portable generator and need some advice. Keep in mind I am a nomad in a minivan at the moment. I currently have a 12v, 2560WH power system already setup with 300 watts of tilting solar on the roof. I want to add a portable generator for those times when there are...

    Only 110 watts coming in?!

Hmm...Solar panels typically work better when it's cold, actually. Perhaps double check your connections? Also, keep in mind that "clear blue sky and sun" doesn't mean the same at, say, 7 am as it does at, say 2pm. It depends on where the sun is, how the panels are angled etc. I did see you...

    Only 110 watts coming in?!

The reason SOC was asked is because charge controllers will "dial back" the amount of power going to the battery as it gets close to full. If your Bluetti is close to fully charged its charge controller will switch to what's known as "float charge". When the batteries get low it switches to...

Need advice on a system upgrade.

Sorry, only realized now that I didn't actually ask any question. lol Am I using the right wire sizes in the right places? Would like recommendations on fuse sizes (the grey ovals/circles in the diagram). Also, do I have fuses placed properly? I actually have an updated diagram I am working...

Need advice on a system upgrade.

I currently have a 12v system and am working on upgrading it (finances are an issue so it won't all be upgraded at once). The diagram below is mostly how it is currently set up, but the diagram contains components I currently do not have on the system yet. This will be installed in a minivan...

Adding a battery to my system.

My intention is for the second battery to be a LiTime (which is the same brand as my current battery, really, just with a different name). As far as I know, all LiTime 100ah LifePo4 batteries are 4p4s compatible, though I will make sure to further research this before making a purchase.

Adding a battery to my system.

So I have an Ampere Time 12v 100ah Lifepo4 battery that I have been using for roughly 6-8 months (though I have owned the battery for almost a year but wasn't on the road and was only able to afford the rest of the bits and bobs for the system 6-8 months ago). The battery is hooked up to an...

    Setting up a minivan system

Let me preface this by pointing out that I am on a fixed income (SSDI) so expensive components (such as a victron multi-plus) are completely out of the question. I am willing to reasonably replace some components I already have if needed. The minivan: 2005 Kia Sedona LX (no roof rack so will...

    12 volt plug getting hot

I have a Bluetti EB70S and when I have it plugged into a power port on my van while driving (haven't tested it in other conditions) the plug itself tends to get pretty hot. Is this normal? Is there something I need to be doing when plugging it in? Am I worrying for nothing?
