you seem to not understand... the BMS that does not discharge does NOT go into any cutoff. No errors logged (cutoff would be logged), discharge is shown as ON but MOS gets not polarized - 0.63V drop over P- and B- !

Ah and then I pressed the emergency mode knob to ON and it started discharging (and apparently charging the JBD pack at 2kW, sucks). Really no errors logged, is the BMS faulty?

best would be laser welding these terminals, but machine is too expensive for diy. Maybe better consider buying welded packs

there are BMS models that can be daisy chained, so no prob here. The danger is rather the high voltage, yeah already 50V is dangerous

I found a company that would do 90° terminals, they would be much better for tightening the busbars because you can hold it on one side with a wrench and then apply any torque on the other side without putting any torque onto the battery body

they ship them with adequate bus bars with 2 holes on each side

yeah that might work. Im looking into Bluecarbon 24 packs. but as I say there is no communication between the BMS. only positive connects to negative of the other pack, the manufacturer says it would not be a problem.

Hello trying to buy some LFP packs and the manufacturer tries to convince me that 24V packs with BMS inside can be put in series to make 48V Battery - when there is no BMS connection between the packs (so only positive of pack 1 to negative of pack 2, no other connection between the packs and...

But in other words: when you order cells with normal pad terminals then still the weight lasts on the top of the cell... this ain't good either

with more cells you have better probability that the cells balance each other. so more small cells and GOOD connection between them (like welded) = BETTER. worse are few big cells in parallel e.g. 2 x 280 AH because then one defective cell will take down the whole pack

all depends. Charging will generate heat but it is hard to quantify how much - depends on current and internal resistance. Then it depends on the exterior temp, when the pack cools down to near 0. You should trust temperature probes of BMS, it will not charge below 0
