    EG4 6500ex with Lifepower4 rack under performing

I have two similar systems at two different locations that are acting the same. I'd love for someone to tell me what stupid thing I'm doing wrong. 36 panels 9s4p generating about 350v to 400v and rated for 455 watts each panel (ideally would add up to be 16kw) Panels are due south without...

    Confused about 6500ex programs 12 & 13 voltage

    I have two similar systems: 4 EG4 6500ex 10 EG4 Lifepower4 batteries 36 SolarEver 455w panel (9s4p) Generator backukp and 4 EG4 6500ex 6 EG4 Lifepower4 batteries 32 SolarEver 455w panel (8s4p) Grid backup On the second system (grid backup) I was getting error 61 when I read that setting-5...

Switch between Grid power and Solar power AND use grid backup

I am building two homes that now have two similar solar systems. Each has four eg4 6500ex inverters (with pv and batteries, of course). One of these two systems is backed up by the utility and the other by a generator. My question is basically the same for both utility and generator backup...

Confused by 5 awg wire supplied with EG4 48v battery

I've just received a eg4 LifePower 48v 100ah battery. The spec sheet says it will serve up to 100 amps continuously. From wire gauge calculators 100 amps requires 1 AWG copper wire. However, I see the wires included are 5 awg (and I see everyone online using these supplied wires in their racks)...

Ironridge xr1000 mounts and thermal expansion

I've decided to install Ironridge xr1000 rails for my new system with 42 panels in 7 landscape rows of 6 panels (image below). I see it is often recommended to leave a few inches of space between panels for thermal expansion. Ironridge tech support told me their system doesn't require this. I...

    EG4 6500ex-48 with generator

Hi All, So I've bought - and will soon assemble - the following equipment for two off-grid setups (two different homes): 4 EG4 6500ex-48 inverters 36 455W panels (9s each going to one inverter...no combiner) 6 (soon to be 12) EG4 48v batteries 15kw Generac generator (to be purchased this week)...

Another wire size question: 4 inverters in parallel

I finally pulled the trigger. I just purchased a system...my first! This is the spec: - 4 EG4 48v 6500 inverters for split phase off-grid application - 6 EG4 batteries (to be doubled after systems up and running and tested) - 36 panels of 450 watt panels (not important but comments welcomed)...

    Electrical grid as backup

I am planning my new home to run on a residential off-grid solar system (I never want to feed back onto the grid or power equipment from the grid). But, I want to choose either the grid or a generator to backup the panels when the batteries are running low. Right now, I am trying to price a grid...

    Planning new residential system

This is my first solar experience and I'm going all-in on a luxury house. I'm an engineer so I know enough to be dangerous, but I'm a mechanical engineer turned computer programmer so I'm not sure it will help at all with this endeavor. I've studied quite a bit and I'm ready to pull the trigger...
