    Victron Gear for sale (SOLD)

Being a moderator myself, on two different forums, neither of which is related to solar power/battery type stuff, you don't have the temperament (resigned after two weeks) to be a moderator. I obviously do not know you, but you come across as brash with an attitude, and certainly not very...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

My apologies.....it wasn't an inkbird.....that is the brand that is used in my Momentum Toy Hauler that controls the freezer compressor on the JC Refrigeration 12VDC twin compressor mod.....so YES, Inkbird DOES make a 12VDC model. Here is the one that I used on the heating pad install for my...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

I bought an "Inkbird" brand digital temperature controller on Amazon....so far so good.

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

I have my MeanWell NPB-750-12 set up in a three stage charging mode for FLA .....on my LFP battery. Bulk/Boost will output 14.2V, and then the float voltage is at 13.4V. Those numbers will obviously charge my 302AH battery that is made from EVE 302 cells. The 14.2V will obviously take a bit...

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

Exactly the point I was trying to make about having the proper size wire from the breaker to the recept......until Texas-Mark jumped in and told me that I was "making it a big deal".....which it might be if 14ga wire is involved instead of 12ga. wire.

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

The terms...Plug...and Receptacle are not interchangeable terms. It's no different that say a NEMA 14-50R and a NEMA 14-50P......one is a receptacle and one is a Plug for that receptacle.
  7. T

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

No, you stated the the "electrical PLUG" for the converter was 20A. That would be the plug on the end of the cord. Maybe you MEANT the electrical receptacle......but that's not what you said.

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

Hopefully, you checked the wiring going from the breaker to the convertor......it needs to be 12ga if it's being fed by a 20A breaker.

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

I feel the same way about my NPB-750-12......43A output....it's been flawless so far.

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

"Fridge envy".....LOL. I have to admit though, before I had ours converted, I had a bad case of it too....especially last fall when we did our one month long trip out west and and the Nevercold fridge never kept the kind of temperatures that a fridge should have. Although we didn't lose any...

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

Chris.....I am 100% satisfied with the MeanWell so far. It does everything it is supposed to do. When I'm parked at home, I turn the battery main disconnect switch off (300A Blue Sea) and just let the MeanWell provide the DC for lights, A/C control power etc. In my case, with the Lippert 6...

"Ford secures battery supplies for 600,000 EVs a year from 2023"

Charging it would be a moot point. My trailer would crush that little truck with the pin weight it puts down, not to mention being several tons of weigh over the towing capacity. EV trucks and towing heavy for the comsumer (not transportations companies with deep pockets) is a pipe dream at...

"Ford secures battery supplies for 600,000 EVs a year from 2023"

The biggest issue there is on towing something like this 20K 5ver is something that has the payload capacity to carry the pin weight of the trailer. Loaded up and rolling the pin weight is right at 4000 lbs....plus another 175lb for the hitch. The Dually has a payload capacity of just under...

"Ford secures battery supplies for 600,000 EVs a year from 2023"

I'm just not seeing it happen for towing this on a 400 mile day. Just under 30,000 lbs going down the road and the trailer is 20K GVWR

I don't see ANY batteries.....only a couple of BMS boxes, a couple of switches, a fuse, and a shunt.

    Our NEW GO-TO LiFePO4 vendor...09.20.21

They must have had them packed up and ready to load on the ship, and threw them over and onto the ship from the dock as the ship was pulling away! :ROFLMAO:

create resistive load for capacity testing

I bought a 200W 12V heating element from Amazon and used it to discharge and do a load test on my EVE 302AH cells once I got them built into a battery. I ran the battery down to the low voltage cutoff that I set in the BMS (2.55V/cell or 10.2 volts/battery). It was pretty steady pulling about...

    Switching To Lithium in Camper???

I had discharged my 302AH LFP battery down to ~44% SOC, as per the Victron 712. I keep a 200W, 12VDC heating element handy for discharging it since I don't have an inverter to drain it down, and no reason to fire up the 12VDC fridge when I can discharge at a higher rate with the heater. So...

    Switching To Lithium in Camper???

I just went through this a few weeks ago, with the factory wiring, factory battery disconnect, auto reset breaker, and the end result was a .6 to .7 volt drip from the charger to the actual battery. I use a Mean Well NPB-750-12 converter/charger and have it set on FLA and 3 stage charging...

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

Chris....here are a couple of pics of the backside of our Norcold (formerly an absorption fridge, but with all of that stuffer removed during the conversion mod by JC Refrigeration). Twin 12VDC compressors.....the larger one takes care of the freezer section and the smaller one takes care of...

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

My testing so far has been with basically nothing else 12V related, on in the camper, so it switched to float as it should. I have NOT tried the charging with enough 12V stuff on that it would impact whether or not the charger went to float voltage.....but honestly, I don't see how it could...

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

Update...Part 2: So the battery finished up charging and it took 4 hours and 10 minutes. I started out with a SOC at 44.7%, and this is on an EVE 302 AH battery that showed I have right at 305 AH. The Mean Well consistently was at the upper 42A range during the CC part of the charge and...

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

A bit of an update. So the final part came in that I ordered and I got it installed and the Mean Well NPB-750-12 is charging away on my LFP. A couple of days ago I hooked up a 12V 200W heating element to discharge the battery and get it down in the upper 40s SOC. Now, with the upgraded...

    New PowerMax Lithium Series Converter/Chargers

Hey Chris....Mean Well does have a 1200W and a 1700W version of the NPB-750-12. And speaking of the MW 750, I ended up buying one and just got it installed a couple of days ago. I'm still in the testing stage with seeing how it works, but of course I discovered an issue with the factory wiring...

Victron BMV-712 bluetooth not wanting to connect

Just a bit of an update. I just fired up the Victron Connect app on my phone while standing at the back door of the house. The trailer is a goo 60 feet away from where I'm standing, inside and it connected. The signal isn't very strong, but it did connect. I'm happy with that and should be...

Victron BMV-712 bluetooth not wanting to connect

I'm pretty sure that he did buy it extra.....The box had been opened, so he must have just put it in there when he shipped the 712 to me. Good to hear that I didn't just overlook the part about having the display connected.....I couldn't find it anywhere and was surprised that it was required...

Victron BMV-712 bluetooth not wanting to connect

Bluetooth distance wasn't the issue, I was sitting on a stool in front of the front generator compartment about 2 1/2 feet from the shunt.....I just didn't know at the time that the display had to be plugged in, and that is where the BT part of it is located. After I got it figured out, I left...

Victron BMV-712 bluetooth not wanting to connect

I thought about that, but then I thought.....well, there's a nice little printed circuit board on the shunt.....that must be part of the B.T. Guess I should have gone with my first instinct. I would also be nice if they would have put that in the instructions that the display and cord MUST be...

Victron BMV-712 bluetooth not wanting to connect

I just finished up with my battery build and I am using a Victron BMV 712. On my initial try to connect to the Victron app, I received the message about nothing being found. Bluetooth on my Android phone was on, and I tried going through the app to connect, but nothing was recognized. I...

What material to use in between prismatic cells

I do have some of the washers left, but I'll warn/advise anyone that is thinking about contacting me about them. The washers worked out to 50¢/each, but the cheapest shipping I could find brought the total up to about triple or more than the cost of the washers alone....a couple of folks...
