    Dodgy wiring job

Thanks every one for your replies. You assured me that I was right to be concerned about the quality of the installation. I wrote the following email to the company that installed the installation: Hi x, I inspected the cables between the solar panels and the solar charge controller and I must...

    Dodgy wiring job

Hi guys, Recently I posted a thread trying to figure out some issues I've been having with my solar set up. The thread can be found here. I decided to inspect the panels and their connection, and I have to say I'm not particularly impressed. I'm seeking feedback from the community as to what my...

    RV charging issues

I bought the 60 amp SCC when I had 3 370W panels fitted to the roof of my RV. The roof collapsed due to excess weight, so I had the repairer fit these other panels. I did some more testing and I'm quite confused: Circuit breaker open: 0A, 20V Circuit breaker closed: -14A, 3.3V Circuit breaker...

    RV charging issues

I haven't yet. The connectors are hard to get to, but I guess I can try. I've measured the voltage before the SCC; 19-20v. I can check the current with a clamp meter, but I'm working during the day and only have weekends. Haven't had a chance yet. Thanks for the suggestion.

    RV charging issues

Hi guys, I'm hoping I could get some help with an issue I'm having. I have 2x 250W panels fitted to my RV roof. The cables from the PV go to a 12v 20A breaker, then to a 60A Renogy Rover SCC, PV input terminals. Two cables from the batt output terminals to go to a 12v 63A breaker, then to...

    Discharge protection

I'm kinda annoyed that this was so easy to fix. Thank you mikefitz! What is SW switch anyway? Is this something the xiaoxiang app doesn't allow the user to modify? That would explain why reloading the xiaoxiang BMS settings didn't fix the problem. Thanks again

    Discharge protection

I bought a USB cable and hope that resetting the BMS will solve the issue. I really can't see what's stopping the battery from discharging.

    Discharge protection

Hi guys, I've had my 100ah battery wired into my car for about 6 months. 4s configuration, 120ah JBD BMS. It mainly runs my fridge and some 12v accessories. It is charged by a 20a lifepo4 DCDC charger. When charging, I've noticed that one cell tends to shoot up past 3.65 up to about 3.8 while...

    Confused by alternator charging

Would I be better off getting 8x 200ah cells? 4 in the truck and 4 in the caravan?

    Confused by alternator charging

Hi all, I'm planning a 12v lithium battery system in my truck and caravan. The truck has a 12v 100ah lifepo battery that powers a fridge and small accessories. The caravan has a 12v 300ah lifepo battery, powering another fridge, small appliances and accessory outlets. The caravan will also have...

Tow vehicle and trailer set up

OK, so that means I'm 100% reliant on the trailer for power. This whole time I thought I needed to have power in the car as well but thinking about it... we are not going to take an extra tent and all that jazz that we would need to camp without the trailer. There's just not enough room to...

Tow vehicle and trailer set up

Hi all, I'm preparing the solar power set up for my tow vehicle and camper trailer for a trip around Australia. We will be gone for a year, maybe more. Here are the requirements I've come up with: Power usage Car Amp/hr Run time Use in 24hr Fridge 2 24 48...
