Lister C/S with inverter generator hardware?

I have a Lister 6/1, it powers a two Delta q 48v 18ah chargers, roughly 2000w. The delta q chargers do not care about frequency nor voltage, the Avr in the generator keeps the voltage close to 240vac and the hrz fluctuate between 55-60. Rpm with no load is 660 and under load its around 640rpm. I...

    Big ole batteries!

If you have a 200w+ solar panel kicking around you could connect it direct to a single battery. Leave it outside in the sun and watch the sg's over time, it will take along time to get the sg's up. Do not worry about hooking a 39v panel to a 2v cell, that battery will bring the solar panel down...

    My 64kwh BYD battery bank

I'm seeing 2.7kwh per pack usable..cycling 3.06v-3.4v..these days I a pulling over 50kwh nightly on sunny day running a couple heat pumps...the byd's have been very stable and I have seen no degradation on the trimeric meter over the past year of daily cycling.

Nice work...I am running a similar wall and find the batts like 55v three hour absorption, 53.8v float..

Understanding MPP Solar charge settings for LifePO4 batteries

My surplus Byd batts will absorb 3-4 hrs at 3.4v per cell, they will accept an additional 10% charge once they hit the 3.4v per cell at absorption.

Will the LV5048 only charge from grid in bypass?

Anyone know if it is possible to get the Mpp Solar LV5048 to charge from grid and not be in bypass mode. Trying to charge bank with a diesel generator loaded to 90% and have the house running on inverted power so as to not overload the generator with house loads. thanks...

BYD Battery - Charge low cell

I used the same screws as above, works really well.. I added headways to the cells that are lower in capacity, then paralleled the cells with fused interconnections. After all that I still only charge to 95% which my batteries hit at 54.4v at 2-5hrs at absorption , if the batteries are fully...

BYD packs — one year on — survey

I am finding my BYD's to be very stable after doing the fused cell interconnects and headways, packs stay within 50mv on the knees... I have been running the cells between 3v-3.4v per cell, and pull +-20 kwh daily.. The main thing I find with these byd's is that they need time at absorption...

Understanding MPP Solar charge settings for LifePO4 batteries

As of now my voltages are 54v float and 54.4v bulk... I got to 100% charge the other day for the first time in a month, been sitting between 30-85% soc since late September. In the summer months I run 53.6V float and 54.2v bulk as I am at 100% soc daily by noon most days.. My bank of batteries...

I'm doing something wrong but.....BYD modules/balance charging settings using ISDT Q8?[/frustration]

As stated above it is a Lifepo4 battery... I have read a few people that received packs with 80-90% capacity, but the vast majority are getting 60% of stated new capacity (+-110ah). These packs seem to be happiest between 3-3.45v per cell, trying to run them out of this range tend to lead to...

Understanding MPP Solar charge settings for LifePO4 batteries

This is what I find as well, I can get to 98% soc @ 3.37v per cell but it will take 4-6 hours of absorbtion, absorbtion will start at around 90% soc. If I were to charge to 3.65v I would be able to get from 90% soc to 100% in no time, but I would start to get imbalances(40-80mv) and could...

Understanding MPP Solar charge settings for LifePO4 batteries

Sounds like a good plan to play it safe and not try to get every last amp.. In the summer I had the float at 53.8 and bulk at 54v and 1 hour absorbtion... I would be a float about 11am every day.. Now with the limited sun I have float at 54v and bulk at 54.4 with 4 hours absorption.. I have...

Understanding MPP Solar charge settings for LifePO4 batteries

I have three of the lv5048's..The time at absorbtion can be set in the menu, the rub is that the absorbtion clock starts counting as soon as float voltage is reached. You would think you would want the clock to start once the bulk voltage is reached, but sadly no.. The automatic setting...

Latest & Greatest BMS for Used BYD Modules???

Bottom balance the packs and then charge, add capacity to the runner cells. Keep doing this until the packs become stable.. I like the headway batteries, as you can add 8ah at a time.. Run the packs between 2.8v-3.45v, it takes 4-6ah to push a cell at 3.45v to 3.6v... This has been my...

Latest & Greatest BMS for Used BYD Modules???

I have found my power wall of 24 byd's to be very stable after interconnecting the cells, I added headways to the runners.. I would not charge them past 27. 2v for any length of time, they can float at 26.9v all day..

Cell 2 about .150 over the others at top of Charge cycle

You might be surprised how small of a difference in capacity there is from for a 150mv at the top and bottom of the charge curve... I bet your talking less the 5ah, if that..

    Active cell balancer...that works?

I am running two 8s qnbbm in series on byd's , as stated above only getting under 2amp transfer with up to 60mv imbalance. That being said the qnbbm's are balancing all cells at once, so the combined transfer could be as high as 10-20amps at one moment on 16s. Each individual qnbbm modual will...

    BYD BMS

The byd's have been cycling daily for seven months now. Since doing interconnects I have been able to raise the absorbtion-float voltage from 3.37v to 3.4v... I'm sure I could go higher but with the sunny weather we have had this summer I am back to 100% by 10am... So they float at 3.4v all...

    BYD BMS

With my Byd's I bottom balanced the packs, then charged them and added one or two headways to the runners.. Once the headways were added, the difference between the 3.65v cell and the lowest cell in the pack would be +-5amps in capacity. Then the cells were paralleled, this took many hours and...

    BYD BMS

A .5amp balance would be lots for a cell of this size, 12amps per day...84amps per week... I have installed the Qnbbm active balancers on my bank of BYD's that have been interconnected, with say a 60mv imbalance nearing fully charged you only get about .7amp transfer. If the imbalance is around...

Copper pipe, 1/2-inch. What is max current capacity?

I get a 12c temperature rise at 250amps 48v through 1/2 refrigeration soft copper pipe, at 120amps the copper is just a bit warm . Bluesea buss bars are rated up to a 40c rise in temperature.

Cheap 4kwh LiFePO4 batteries from Batteryclearancewarehouse

Out of the 26 packs I received from BCH, 1 pack had a cell of 66ah capacity, the rest all tested 110-120ah. That being said they were no where near the guarantee of 80% of 5.6kw capacity. I spoke with Guy from BCH after Wills post on the subject and Guy and I came to an agreement, I offered to...

    24v BYD battery max charge

Really depends on how long of an absorbtion charge you want to apply. If I charge to 26.6v and float it at that voltage the byd's will be 85% full in 4hrs. If I charge to 26.9v the byd's will get to 100% charge in 4hrs at 26.9v float..I am charging with Mpp Solar LV5048, so I am limited to a...

    24V BYD powerwall

My experience with these used byd's is not to charge them over 27v. I charge mine to 27.2v in bulk and then float at 27v all day. These voltages have been for me, set it and forget it... Help! Pip 2424LV MSD and 24v BYD powerwall not charging

Can your bms shutoff charging? need to check individual cell voltages... With my byd's, I have found bulk charging for any length of time over 26.9v they will need to be watched. Cell 8 is generally the cell that tend to start to rise in the packs at any voltage over 26.9v give time. A bulk...
