I have 4 100ah lifepo4 batteries connected in series parallel to make a 24v system but i noticed from the bluetooth bms that sometimes they are 1 or 2% difference in the Soc but the voltage are within 20mv of each other. As i have a battety balancer connected. Is this 2% difference bad or...

Current configuration. Including balancer and bluetooth battery monitor.

I dont have any victron product currently and there is still the fact that the victron costs more than double the cost of the TBD.

Does anyone have experience with the TBD smart shunt? Is it as good as the victron smart shunt or not good?

The white wire with the black tape is the negative charge coltroller wire. You are saying that that white wire needs to also be at the front of the shunt?

The negative wire from the charge controller is connected to the battery on the same terminal as the shunt..

I bought a battery monitor as seen in the attached picture. I think the configuration is correct but for some reason the AH keeps going up ad it charges its as if its reading amp hours coming in from the charge controller. As my battery back is 200ah at 24v but ah on the shunt is now showing...

I already have the balancer connected and since i have them i havent gone under 75% from over night use . I will be adding more loads tho.

Because of them being at different SOC at times?

If the manufacturer states that a battery can use 4 in series or 4 in parallel. Would putting them in 2s3p be allowed or thats too much for the bms?

Yea i will be changing to 6mm² before i go 2s2p.

I will be expanding to a 2s2p array eventually.

That being said. I now have 2.5mm² wire running from my panels to charge controller. Would it be good to change from the 2.5 to 6mm²?

Well thats not too bad maybe ill have to do it that way too if it comes down to it. Cuz at the moment i dont see any of the himassi smart 12v 100ah available.

This is the bad battery in the pack it looks so weird in there, really frusting me but its actually at the same voltage as the rest of the batteries and currently all 4 are dischargingbat basically the same amps. Its just uncomfortable to look at tho.

Do they work well together tho? In terms of charging and cut off and being in sync?

I plan on buying another himassi battery and eventually getting a bms and use this one for a different setup. As i dont want to have mismatched bms in 1 battery bank.

I also ordered an active balancer to balance the cells its not just thebad battery that needs balancing all 4 batteries do. So ill use that to balance them alto it seems that its gonna take a very long time to balance all of them but i can still use grid power while i balance them.

I reconnected the battries today back into 2s2p and did some amount of discharge and charged and the charging stopped and i also tried charging the damaged battery by itself yesterday and it charged and stopped when it was supposed to so it seems its ok so far. It seems to be reading all 4 cells...

I need replacement bms as i think mone is damaged.

Im gonna charge them up over the next few days and reconnet them in parallel to get them balanced and them ill hook them back up in 2s2p. I also have a powmr battery balancer so that will help keep the voltages close. Within 20mv of each other.

Currently charging. I think there is a way to make it work @Texas-Mark said with some adjustments to the low voltage and high voltage and pack voltage. I think the main issue would be pack voltage id need to set that very low but it seems the bms is still doing its job based off the cell...

I opened mine up yesterday because i am have the bms read as a 3 string and not four so my battery voltage is around 10. Its the same vip bms. Where did u order them from?

I just think waking up the bms did some sort of damage to it and i will just have to reolace the bms. Hope i can find one that can work with these 3 battries as i dnt think ill get back the same VIP bms .

Its the exact setup like the one in will's video. Remember the 10 volts was even before i opened the battery up so it wouldnt have been an issue with the meter and pins.

Yes it was working fine apart from cells not balanced.
