And make sure the link 0 port is open on the master as well, I think it states that in the instructions.

Take a look at the manual and set your batteries up that way. I’ve noticed if they are not configured correctly you either get an error or you get an incorrect or uneven SOC. Stagger your + and - between the batteries, the master should have the communication cable configured to it as well as...

    Panel Array

I want to say the panels are 76” x 39”. I bought some random generic mounting plates off of Amazon.

Update: I reconfigured the batteries so that one of my old ones was the master, the new one that wasn’t communicating with the inverter was the #1 slave, and my other old one was the #2 slave. Everything is working now as the new one communicates with the other batteries but not the inverter...

DLG E-BOX 48100R, testing and tinkering.

I picked up a third one of these and it is slightly different than my other two. The link 1 and 0 ports are side by side instead of vertical like my other two. For some reason the new battery doesn’t seem to be communicating with the inverter. It syncs up with the other two, but eventually I...

    Panel Array

Took me longer to get the picture to show up in my post than it did to build it.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

Yeah, no problem. Sorry for the confusion, I’m new to solar so I just assumed the display readings were accurate because the BMS was functioning correctly lol. Learning all the time on here! Thanks for dialing me in, I appreciate it.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

You were right, the display shows 5w but it’s drawing 2 amps @ 50+ volts! ETA: it was late, I didn’t realize I had some stuff plugged in. But the displayed values aren’t accurate.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

Ok, I’ll check and let you know. If it is legit I’ll post my settings so other folks can try to replicate it.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

The LVX 6048 doesn’t have a power saving mode, but I disabled the features I wasn’t using. Actually the batteries don’t have an independent reading, I’ll have to pull out the multimeter and check. But, Battery 1 was putting out 5W and Battery 2 was putting out 0W with 120/240 being output.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

Yes, yes, and yes. I can try measuring it with the multimeter if anyone cares for me to check it.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

During the initial start-up and initial charging of the batteries the Inverter was drawing 70-100w, but once the system started running for a few days the idle consumption dropped very low. Unless I’m measuring it incorrectly.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

The inverter display shows each battery’s usage in watts, voltage, etc. when you cycle through the Home Screen.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

Monitoring the draw on the batteries at night when there is zero PV input, no active load, and the inverter is outputting 120V/240.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

Small update for those interested. Hooked everything up and has been running flawlessly. The Pytes batteries BMS communicates with the MPP LVX 6048 using the Pylontech battery settings. Interestingly the LVX 6048 has only been drawing around 5W when it is idling. I did turn off some of the...

DLG E-BOX 48100R, testing and tinkering.

Hooked mine up to MPP LVX 6048 today, initially the BMS wasn’t communicating, but eventually I sorted it out. The inverter was initially throwing a fault for failed BMS communication. Used the inverter settings for Pylontech and the recommended configuration on the Pytes description on...

Are you guys running the ground wire on these? The manual says to ground it and there appears to be a ground link for between batteries, but in all the videos of people running these nobody seems to have the ground wires connected.

I noticed in the manual that the max amperage on parallel batteries is 120a, what are you guys running your fuses at? 150a?

    Pytes Battery wiring questions!

I picked up a couple of 5.1kwh Pytes server rack batteries from Watts247. I noticed that the wires are all 4 AWG, even the line into the inverter. Should I just run what they spec’d and fuse for 4 AWG, or run to a bus bar or fuse and then step up to a heavier gauge wire to a breaker and into...

    Off Grid System, Questions!

My EG4 batteries were back ordered so I picked up a couple of Pytes 5.14KWH batteries. I noticed that their battery wires are all 4AWG, even the line in to the inverter. A lot of folks were recommending running 00 cables. Should I run the 4AWG cables to a bus bar or fuse then bridge them into...

    Off Grid System, Questions!

So, I hooked up the panels to the inverter today, it was raining really hard, but the Inverter was reading the PV input as 240v 75w, but then would jump to 575w, then back down and back up repeatedly. Is that normal to see a large variation? I don’t have anything hooked up to it, no load or...

    LV6048 Missing

I had my wife pull up the receipt lol It told me at checkout I think. Also it was around $1475 (I edited my previous post) with the discount code I pulled off of one of those random websites from a “Watts247 discount code” search. A guy was trying to sell me one locally for $1800 at the time.

    LV6048 Missing

I bought one about a month ago from Watts24/7 and used some random coupon code. Ended up being around $1475 or so. Looks like they should have some in stock soon.

    Off Grid System, Questions!

Yeah, I saw that idle consumption issue on Will’s review of the LVX 6048 after I already had picked one up. My main draw to the 6048 was the ability to use it without batteries, but now I definitely see a 6 slot server rack in my future. Right now I only really need to run a chest freezer and...

    Off Grid System, Questions!

I’m building a small off grid system and have a few questions, and am open to suggestions. (I’m kind of newish to solar.) Panels: 12 - 300w ran in two series of 6 in parallel. Inverter/Charge Controller: MPP LVX 6048 Batteries: 2-EG4 LifePower4 (Planning to add more when I expand the...
