LV 6048 hybrid with GRID bypass relay/contactor. Is it practical?

If the LV 6048 hybrid has an input connecting it to the grid. Does this mean that the inverter has the ability to perform a closed transition? Looked up some automatic transfer switches, it appear that they sell a lot of them in the range of 100-250A around 100-200$. Would something like this...

LV 6048 hybrid with GRID bypass relay/contactor. Is it practical?

Looking for some advice designing a Grid to inverter bypass system. I hope someone here has a similar setup, as I am looking for a cheap setup of: - 1000$ solar panels, 1000$ inverter, 1000$ DIY battery with a project cost no more than 4000$. Goal: - 2 or 3 phase bypass relay (don't know if...

Dual Schneider Conext XW pro 6.8k VS Single Sol-Ark 15k

Also, who uses 200A @ 240VAC? Is this when all pumps turn on at the same time in the house? But if a 30A motor kicks on at around 160A on the Sol-Ark, won't the inverter just trip on the surge anyways? Isn't it safe to say that the 200A grid bypass was just a way to compensate for their poor...

Dual Schneider Conext XW pro 6.8k VS Single Sol-Ark 15k

I also hear that Schneider is probably even more hardcore when it comes to their UL-listing compliance and have the solar industries lowest failure rates, the fewest returns and the best customer service. Not to bash on the Sol-ark. It would appear that 8500W for 30min on each inverter (17kW...

Dual Schneider Conext XW pro 6.8k VS Single Sol-Ark 15k

What system will be able to handle a full house of loads (including inductive loads) Disclaimer: - My house doesn't exceed 50A (240VAC) of continuous power. - Main breaker is 200A, but I do not ever get close to that. - My goal is to be completely off grid on a modern house using heat-pump HVAC...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

Each phase does look 180degrees apart. But together they indeed do look like they are adding one another instead of subtracting. I assume this is why you read 0A on the neutral with a multimeter? And the reason we read 240VAC between L1 and L2 is because when one is 120VAC, the other is...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

For the 240VAC transformer output; is the neutral connected to ground?(to a ground rod)? how would we prevent ground current going through the grid transformer neutral wire if this is the case? Edit: Is this the only exception to the rule?

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

I'm sorry if I work mostly in visual illustrations and wiring schematics, I feel things get easily lost in translation with words and sentences. See attached picture: I'm assuming this is what you mean with seperate N-G-L1-L2 paths? 1) Breaker/disconnect for sol-ark with the N-G bond. (First...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

Like this, Correct? Like you said, the 200A fused disconnect in this case can be considered the main breaker panel, and that is what is supposed to be bonded with neutral, since we don’t want any current running through the neutral wire back to the transformer. E.g. If 100A ran through ground...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

Maybe I’m biased…I’m just opposed to the idea of having appliances in two different locations because it adds complexity to the system. If I wanted to shut off certain appliances, I would just keep it off and not use/rely on these appliances at all. (Turning off breakers in the main panel)...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

Looks pretty simple to me.. They don’t say anything about a sub panel.. ? Edit: basically what you mean is the the 200A fusible disconnect is the main panel, even if it is just a single enclosed breaker/fusefolder. (Not connected to ground) I’m sure Sol-Ark keep the name: Main breaker panel...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

For the solark 15K, isn’t it possibly to simply add a single breaker next to the inverter and connect L1,L2, N and G straight from the utility to the inverter? Is a sub panel really needed? And then output L1,L2, N and G straight to the main breaker? Or do you need to mess with the Neutral and...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

1)The goal is to not put any power back into the grid. 2) …While also saving money. I’m starting to think that unless I get a solark 15K and tie the main two power leads from the grid to the inverter, and then take the output leads back into the main panel. (Expensive as it is)… I would NOT...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

the 15K solark seem to be possible to run a input of 200A, right? So if you have a house with the size main breaker panel at 200A, you’d be ultimately able to leave the entire main breaker empty connect the L1, L2, N and G straight to the Sol-ark and have the entire house to supplied by the...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

@Gavin Stone 1) Can you recommend any inverters that have a CT monitoring system? I may have to rethink my whole strategy. 2) Also, do you know of any inverters like this that is also capable of not shutting off when the grid is down?

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

I made another drawing to illustrate what I am fearing. It's possible that this is also wrong, so please do let me know if this is the correct way of looking at it..? Edit: in the red arrow I meant to say in parallel, not in series…

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

@Zapper77 Feels weird to shut off the grid? Bypass it I mean? Is that necessary? 1) Is there no way to use inverter to feed all loads of the house together with the grid? 2) Charge batteries with solar and primarily use the power from inverter over the grid whenever possible. 3) Not backfeed the...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

@Zapper77 That was my confusion exactly. There would be no point in having input and output terminals if it was able to switch between getting and giving at the same time. My main questions I guess would be if both of them are even necessary...? Can I do with one without the other? (Input or...

Hybrid LV 6048 inverter "IN" and "OUT" markings should not be mis-connected. What does this mean?

Hello and thanks for checking out my post. I've never designed a solar system before, so hopefully none is gonna crush me in my newbie questions regarding the implementation. I've been looking for examples of wiring, but most of the drawings online does not show the specific wiring schematic...
