    Low battery voltage alarm

I will, 2nd morning where it's doing this

    Low battery voltage alarm

Measurement is at inverter. Battery cable is what came with the inverter 2/0 I think.

    Low battery voltage alarm

"Master" Eg4 inverter started low voltage alarm around 4am ~51.2V. Why is this? Super annoying as I assumed we were good to go down into the 48v range. Why is default settings throwing this alarm? Should I change habits or settings?

    Designing a high-efficient off-grid home

I had the opposite experience, solar was plug & play (except qc problems) and the grading and plumbing were where I ran into challenges

    Designing a high-efficient off-grid home

That's awesome, I always liked soil roofing conceptually but my timber framing mind just can't get over how moisture damage could be difficult to track down and address quickly

    EG4 F08 code, dead inverter

Wtf wish I knew about this while I dealt with support and RMA for MONTHS :( Never got offered anything for the trouble, they just kept trying to get me to pay for repairs on units that wouldn't run in parallel out of the box. Wonder who you talked to....?

    EG4 F08 code, dead inverter

I couldn't even get my two eg4 6500-ex to function in parallel until the 2nd rma replacement. Really hope I don't develop this same problem also... will keep an eye out for anything abnormal

    EG4 F08 code, dead inverter

I would detail the conditions under which the inverter failed in an email to signature and send inverter in for rma. I assume it's under warranty but even if it's past warranty period the unit could have a workmanship problem that resulted in instability. Best of luck, I know how hard single...

    1/2" 4/0 lugs

I went to my NAPA for 4/0 1/2" lugs if I'm remembering properly. I live in an area with a lot of agricultural equipment so the napa has a crazy good selection and isn't too crazy expensive

Anyone running a mini-split only on off grid solar?

Needed ac manifold gauge set, vacuum pump and a damn good hole saw. Got the first two for under 200 at the Harbor Freight but probably could've rented from local HVAC supply company.

Ever been to the beach in SC my dude? Clouds are God's grace floating by imho

I really like the new powerpro battery..

If you mess it up, it not local government's problem where I reside.

Grateful for the cloud cover, I got sunburn last time I came down (first week of July was high UV down here) Grandfather is grid-tied so no worries about cloud cover here. Kinda relaxing when I think about it.

Anyone running a mini-split only on off grid solar?

Utility company is a luxury I couldn't afford 0.6 miles off the road and more than a mile from a pole. Congrats on cutting it down but I suspect you cut it down to nothing with strategic insulation.

First Post-Here's my initial plan. Rip it apart for me...

Ample insulation may save you watts sir, best of luck. I just got AC in Tennessee and it was miserable for the last couple months

Building codes, hahaha you're obviously not familiar with local government in rural East Tennessee ?

Day 1 and I'm realizing that it's no good for me, should be spending more time with the family on vacation. Looking at this instead of the screen

Very nice for the size, guess in FL it returns on investment in one summer

Anyone running a mini-split only on off grid solar?

After dealing with Signature Solar I assume any warranty is just a piece of paper. They fought hard not to replace equipment. Honestly I expect the same from trane, Mitsubishi, Pinnacle or Mr. Cool regardless of installer's qualifications. We just live in a throw away culture where too many...

Enclosure cooling fan settings + differential thermostat

I've used inkbird thermometers and controllers in a different application but I'm sure that they could be adapted to a solar enclosure. 105⁰f outside the enclosure is brutal! I prefer my desktop and indoor seed starting to be near room temperature (ac set to 77⁰f currently) 115⁰f seems insane...

Anyone running a mini-split only on off grid solar?

I could not source Mr. Cool 4th generation when I purchased my units. Only older, less efficient solutions were available at that time.

    Multizone Mini Split?

I ended up installing 4 single zone systems because multi head systems don't come in the 38 seer ?

Anyone running a mini-split only on off grid solar?

Good call, just trade labor or goods for a good hvac guy to look over your shoulder. My man Danny has rental cabins and needed some labor. Just don't pay market price for HVAC installation plz

Anyone running a mini-split only on off grid solar?

I called and got 4 units for 8200$ with linesets and liftgate service. For 36k BTU at 38 seer it was the best price I could find by far. Had the saleswoman email me a quote and compared a dozen or so vendors local and online. I'm sure the best deals change week to week by inventory.

38 seer system was essential on off grid solar imho

Anyone running a mini-split only on off grid solar?

Seems like HSPF and SEER are both combined into SEER2 (which makes more sense) I'll look into what the Pinnacle units report as seer2 figure as I'm unlikely to figure out the algebra

shorted 12V LiFePO battery, now what?

That's a relief! BMS are an amazing innovation and I'm sure most of the forum has had bacon saved. Bet we'll both be more careful about shorts in the future too!

    Preparing for WW3

"Raid" man this is so goofy, just move to a remote wilderness if y'all this paranoid (God knows I am)

shorted 12V LiFePO battery, now what?

Do you have a 12v charger? My batteries in the Camper had a similar problem with low Temps last winter, eventually woke up, but was a pain with no furnace fan
  34. JohnTupper

Anyone running a mini-split only on off grid solar?

I'm not very technical can you explain the difference in seer2 and old spec? Here is the short form documentation from the box. I was shocked at how inexpensive the hvacdirect units were compared to local HVAC quotes.

I really like the new powerpro battery..

I'm sure outdoor mounts would be great for some people, but in rural TN having thousands of dollars in lithium mounted outside with bears and worse (humans) would surely result in damage or loss. I am much more comfortable with batteries locked in the mechanical room in my basement. Would need a...
