Hello all,

I am totally new to the world of solar and looking to build out an off grid system over time.

Is it possible to start off with only 1 48V 100ah battery paired with an EG4 6000XP inverter and slowly expand?

Thanks

I would. BUT
I would keep max loads to around 2000 watts and charge no more that 1500 watts.
You can set charge and discharge limits in the 6000xp so it is totally doable.

Thank you
So keep in mind, even with the reduced currents, you would still want to wire it with 1 awg or 1/0 on the battery. This is so you do not need to buy wire twice or run into trouble in the future after expansion or forgetting about not upgrading the wire.
