I currently have two 200 watt 12v Rich solar panels. I want to add two more panels. I could just get two more rich solar panels but the HQST 190 watt 12v panels are about 70% the cost of the Rich Solar. I'd like to run them all in series to simplify the wiring to the controler and reduced wire size. Would this work? Id expect a performance hit on the 200 watt panels but how much? Simple math would suggest about 5%. I'm connecting to a Chins 3000W 24V all in one. PV specs for the Chins 100V max V and 80 amp I believe. Thanks

The blog post may be helpful to you.

If it was me, I probably would suck it up and pay to have the exact same panels in the string. But the specs are quite close. Close enough that it may be only a 5% degradation like you thought. If the specs were further apart I would suggest using two solar charge controllers as an alternative.

I'll wager that you will not notice anything amiss with those panel ratings they are virtually identical. I have several panels of mixed ancestry and they put out better wattage than I expected them too. My biggest difference on my number 1 array is 22.4Voc and 20.4Voc. (100w panels)
