48V battery bank to 12V inverter

I want to have a 48V battery bank that can power a 12V inverter. Can I use a 48V DC to 12V DC converter for this?
If you want to get fancy consider the Vicor NBM modules. They are basically 4:1 DC/DC transformers, so the inverter can treat the 48V battery like a 12V battery - charge it, discharge it, set voltage limits, whatever. But they are pricey and require some additional work from you (a PWB to make it work.)

Any 48v inverters that you could recommend that don’t have GFCI? I had to disable mine since Renogy already has the ground bonded within the unit.
I checked the WZRELB part which I linked to above and didn't find a GFCI feature shown. Under "looking for specific info?", typed in "GFCI" and the AI answer said that the inverter didn't have a GFCI. (If you trust the AI answer.)
