560ah 12v Bank for Sprinter RV

I also used 2/0 and it is good for a 300 amp fuse. HaldorEE is right that the fuse protects the wiring. I sized the wiring and fuse to accommodate the maximum possible draw from the inverter. My old 200ah AGM bank had a 300A MRBF fuse which I replaced when going with the lithiums.

300A is right at the limit of being the largest fuse you should use with 2/0 AWG wire. A 2000W Inverter requires ~ 170A from a 12V battery.

Surge demand is momentary and shouldn't play a major role in sizing a fuse. I would suggest a fuse rated for 250A would work fine with that inverter. I tend to err on the side of not running anything at the max possible current.

I'm doing same size 12vbattery (8x280EVE) with same bms(OVERKILL 120x2), I don't really have a place to build anything at this point. everything including welders in storage.... Would be great to buy a box such as this ready to go, just load my batteries,bms into it!

search the forum, someone was selling some boxes they had for 4s config... with bms.

Since I have learned so much from this forum I thought I would share my approach to upgrading my Sprinter RV's battery bank. When I bought my Winnebago ERA it had two undercarriage mounted 100Ah AGMs and no inverter. Some years ago I added a 300 watt Renogy solar array, a 20 amp MPPT charge controller and a 2000W Kisae-Abso charger/inverter. That worked fine for coffee machine and microwave use while boondocking until the LP refrigerator failed and I replaced it with a 12v Marine refrigerator.

I also have a Winnebago Era that I am upgrading to enable better boon docking. I am really interested in your experience with the Kisser-Abso inverter which I see you installed in the seat/bed base next to the bathroom and would really appreciate hearing more detail on the following:
  • Any issues with heat/inverter overheating in the compartment?
  • Has the inverter been reliable? Any issues with noise?
  • How did you run your ac cables across to the power center - underneath? Conduit? Stranded cable?
  • Did you run ac from the output of the transfer switch to the inverter and then from the inverter into the power center?
  • Did you remove the charger from the back of the power center?
 
If you look at the pics the cells are clamped in place with threaded angle brackets and bolts pressing on a steel plate. I didn't have room to put threaded rods on either side of the cells. The clamping force is not as strong as it could be with threaded rod but it keeps things from moving.
Nice looking build. And with bit more tinkering one could provide more than enough clamping force with a box construction like yours. Sides are plenty of strong as-is but the endplates would need bit different approach.
