Balancing AGM GEL batteries.

I was told by Renogy to balance my AGM gel batteries. How closely do the voltages need to match? I have 8, and will be connecting them in a 4s2p configuration. I currently have them within .02 volts of each other. Good enough?

AGM gel? That's two different things you have there, which is it?

If they are all the same model / age and their resting voltage is within 0.02 volts you won't get them any closer and be sane at the end of the process.

They are AGM gel. New tech. The sane ship sailed a long time ago on this project ? Thanks as always Gnubie.

The specs are rather impressive, for example 2,000 amp discharge for 5 seconds, 60 amp charge. In a 4s2p, you can throw 120 amps at the bank if you've got the juevos.
