Battery location - what are you putting your batteries in?

Hi guys,

I'm about to move my primitive and ad-hoc solar system to use LiFePO4 batteries (instead of the random collection of lead-acids I was using to test viability).

I'm trying to find *something* in which to put the batteries that will provide me with some protection - the battery from cold/wet, and the outside from the batteries going nuclear (I don't expect it to stop a fire, just to slow it until alarms start sounding).

The location is basically an outdoor shed in the UK, so although it's dry, it's outside and over the winter they may be condensation, cold temperatures, etc.

Without spending ridiculous amounts of money, what are you using / recommending to enclose the batteries? I see caravan-style plastic boxes that don't inspire me with much confidence (they look more useful for carrying the battery than protecting anything), huge metal electrical cabinets (and I don't really want exposed metal near battery connectors), etc. but nothing that looks small and simple and (relatively) cheap.
