BMS not working between Sunsynk inverter and battery

Hi,

I have a 5kWh Sunsynk inverter with a Sunsynk SSLB1 5.1 kWh battery, and the BMS doesn't seem to work: if I go to the LI BMS menu, , it shows everything at zero. The inverter doesn't seem to know the actual SoC of the battery either (I have 2 LEDs on the battery, so it is between 25% and 50%, but the inverter thought it was only 4%...)

The RJ45 cable is plugged to the left CAN/RS485 port on the battery, and to the CAN port on the inverter.
The battery setup is set to Lithium, CAN, Protocol 0.
I also tested the RJ45 cable and it seems fine, although:
  • the wire 1 on one side goes to the wire 3 on the other side
  • 2 goes to 1
  • and 3 goes to 2
  • the rest is straight (4 to 4, 5 to 5, etc).
Is that expected?

Any idea how I can fix this BMS connection?

Thanks!

did you check you used the correct ends of the cable in the correct ports ?
they should have labelled which rj45 goes in the inverter and which one goes in the bms port

And do make sure you are using the correct cable that came with the battery and NOT the yellow one coming with the inverter...

Yes the cable does seem plugged with the right ends on the right sides, and it isn't yellow.

I'm attaching a few pictures which should help understand the current (broken) state.Image1690320636860800592.jpgImage4087346077505946373.jpgImage5127650340793360234.jpgImage2087963601310559720.jpg
