Replacing a small wind turbine. Hi I have a 100' run from tower to battery room (160' total wire length) System is 24V. The wire run is mostly buried 2/0 aluminum. I was thinking of using a 48V turbine to help with the voltage drop my logic being that some panels get up above 48V and the MPPP handles it. Can I set up a 48V charge controller for that? Or what? Also, I have heard that because wind changes faster than sun, the circuits of an MPPT may not be right for wind....Thoughts?

Hello, I'm no expert but I can say that after some time here, wind power doesn't get a lot of love on these forums. Hydro, a little more but it's pretty lonely here for moving parts that produce noise friction etc. I do know that people talk a lot about Midnite solar brand devices having profiles for wind, hydro etc. when talking about charging sources that aren't PV or an ICE backup generator.
