Disconnected solar panels

Good morning fellow members,

I've read conflicting information on the web regarding this topic.

My solar panels are Polycrystalline (Poly) and not CdTe.

The electronics for my system are slowly arriving and my free time is limited (work and family obligations) so it could be conceivably 6-8 weeks before I finish setup and turn the system on.

That being said, I have a crew of guys coming on Monday to help set up ground mount ballasts (requires filling with 17 tons of rock). I was hoping to have them help me move all the panels and place them on the mounts as well. The panels are currently in my garage - 300' away from the field.

If the panels are left in the sun disconnected for 6-8 weeks, will they get damaged?

I understand there is no load and thus no current. Here's the conflicting part. I've read that no damage will occur because there is no current flowing. However, I've also read that since the panels still generate electricity they also generate heat. It's the heat that damages the panel and the panels can only handle at most a few days disconnected.

Thank you for your help with this.
