Anyone else install a new eg4 6000xp that emits a strong mold smell? It's been running for about a month and still smells bad.

its in a small closet like room with an exterior door. I had 2 3000k invertors in there for two years and no smell!Where do you have the inverter located?
it has been in the low 90's in that room for the last week , no change.I put a small space heater under my shed last winter …as it was damp and dank down there , it had a mildew smell when I brought it out that spring… I had to run it on high heat a couple of days to burn off the residue and the smell …
I would be curious where it was stored and how ,before you got it……I have seen stereo and PA speaker develop this trait if stored in a poor/ damp condition warehouse or stockroom that wasnt climate controled..
Get it hot..see what happens ..

mine produces beautiful electrons, and runs a lot cooler than the 2 eg4 3k inverters it replaced, but it stinks!Nope, mine smelled like beautiful electrons.
weird thing is that the box it came in is clean and no stink, the plastic bag wrap has a slight odor. the odor seems to come from inside the casing, hope it's not a dead mouse or something .Some of the used shipping containers I looked at when buying were pretty musty smelling. Could be from shipping.
Sad to hear that.it has been in the low 90's in that room for the last week , no change.

That would indeed be terrible!dead mouse or something .
put a couple bags of carbon filtrate inside the room. APParently, i'm the only lucky one, who got the stinky unit. Fortunately, l don't need to spend much time in there, now that the computer monitor is working, and all the wiring is cleaned up. This 6000xp is definetly running a lot cooler than the 3k's were, the room temp today is 86 and the outside temp is 97. it used to stay at least 5 degrees hotter than outside. Not having the inverters overheat is a big improvement.Might put a dehumidifier in the closet with it for a week.
I would assume that if you can smell it, it's slowly burning off.
More heat, or dehumidification, will hopefully speed up the process.
Interesting concept, of course like many products, it will not ship to CA.., we seem to be "special",If its actual mold or pretty much anything else "alive" this will kill it :
This is similar to the ozone generator I bought (mine seems to be discontinued now) a few years ago. I used it to kill off mold in vehicles that were stored long term. Kills mold and removes smells. Make sure to vent the area after using it. I used it on an old house once and made sure to open windows and air it out after I used it.
Perhaps for a good reason!Interesting concept, of course like many products, it will not ship to CA.., we seem to be "special",
Like I said if its alive that thing will kill itPerhaps for a good reason!
【WARNING】All ozone machines are for UNOCCUPIED space only. Ensure that NO people and NO animals in the room when it's working. Opening the door and window for air ventilation at least 30 minutes, then allowed to enter the room.
I have been wondering this entire time how you are supposed to open the window without going in the room...Like I said if its alive that thing will kill it
It doesn't kill ya fast. It smells so bad when you first go in the room you know somethings up but the smell goes away pretty fast once you open the room up.I have been wondering this entire time how you are supposed to open the window without going in the room...
Is it like anything you can describe? It doesn't kill ya fast. It smells so bad when you first go in the room you know somethings up but the smell goes away pretty fast once you open the room up.
The air after a nice lighting storm and downpour. Is it like anything you can describe?
