Through some industry hookups, I have managed to source 40x 72v 50ah electric motorcycle lithium ion batteries at a bargain price.
I plan on using these for an off-grid solar array for my cabin. I know this is a lot of energy storage for off grid, but I plan on babying the system by not letting them drain past 50% so they'll last a lifetime. And last through the dark winter season without needing a generator to top up the battery.
I will swap the proprietary BMS's with generic 100a common port bms with bluetooth feature and hook all the batteries up in parallel.
I have trouble finding much options for 72v mppt (84v on max charge). All the options I have found are ~60a max. I'd rather not have 10 small mppt's, but would rather a singular big mppt that can do 600a. And I'm ok with paying the premium.
Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thank you
