I have a Growatt MIN5000TL-XH inverter and am trying to collect data for Solar Assistant (which seems to be working fine). I have configured the USB to RS485 as per the instructions but I am not getting any TX/RX lights on the RS485 Converter and therefore no data to Solar Assistant. Is there anything I need to do on the inverter to get it to transmit data? I am using two internal wires from a CAT5 cable and have tested continuity, but nothing is coming out of the RS485 port

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi,
Similar problem - crimped RJ45 plug on USB to RS485 cable, as per https://solar-assistant.io/help/growatt/sph-range. Tried both pins 1 and 5, as well as pins 4 and 5, changed the comms mode for inverter's RS485 to VPP, but not receiving any data. Tried only opening PuTTY connection to serial port (with installed FTDI driver beforehand), haven't got Solar Assistant yet.
Thanks,

Martin

Edit: the cable works as expected with Solar Assistant, crimped only yellow and orange wires.
