Will has a video on YouTube that is 17 minutes, 27 seconds.

DIY 13kW 48V Offgrid Solar System: How to build it from scratch!

The exact system I just bought.

Will shows using a power resistor crossing the 150a switchable fuse as to prevent the arc of the connection.

Reviewing his video, he changed to a 300a fuse, which will have an arc when connecting it.

My system came with 2) 200a inline fuses where he shows the switchable inline fuse.

I have three 48v 5.3 KWh LiFeP04 batteries to connect.

I will have a big arc when connecting for the first time.

Any ideas how to get around that?

My inline fuses have a warning as to not replace with power on. so I could not use the resistor, then connect the fuse.

Can I use the resistor to charge the capicators, then turn off the batteries to make the connection?

Just don't want to burn anything up.

Thanks..

I wouldn’t build a system with out a battery disconnect. That is what you should use the resister to go around to charge the capacitors.
My batteries each have a power switch. But I still want an inline disconnect also. Good point.
