Hello,
I'm looking to convert my atomic 4 gasoline powered C&C 30 to electric while going totally DIY and I'm trying to plan out how to do this. I currently have the stock gasoline engine and lead-acid batteries to start it. I am wondering if I should get my feet wet now and build a LiFePO4 12 v battery this year to use as a house bank and then just add the 48v system next year when I do the conversion or if I should wait until I'm ready to do the entire conversion and then use a 48v to 12v converter. Finally a third option would be to buy the 4 cells for the 12 v system now and when I do the full conversion, add 12 more cells to get a 48v system, but I wonder if there may be battery balancing issues if i do it this way? Are there any particular advantages to doing it one way vs the other? Thanks for your advice.
