A neighbor is selling Trinasolar 270 watt panels for $110 each. (30.9 Vmp, 8.73 Imp, 9.22 Isc, 37.9 Voc).

He claims the are 5 years old and has upgraded to 400 watts. Good buy?

I just paid $139ea. (2 of em) for 200w brand new shipping included. But I don't have any neighbors and no access to used panels.

Do you have a use for the panels? Would the panels specs cause any problems?

Well, I’m a noob. I have an Epever XTRA 4215N controller (150V, 40A) and my PV wire is 10 AWG by 100 feet (one-way). I think I could put 3 panels in series, possibly 4, but I don’t know what I don’t know ?

At 37.9Voc ea. you would want to only go with 3 in series or 113.7Voc. 4 would be 151.6Voc and exceed your SCC. The 10awg would be good for those 3S since your amperage is only 8.73Imp. For a 12v setup you would be a bit over paneled. (13v X 40a = 520w)

Thanks. battery bank is 24v. Sorry for leaving out that key piece of data

I have a local seller with 275W Canadian Solars for 90$ each. Your price is not bad, but you might be able to do better? Where are you phyically located?
