No it's not. I am a complete noob with zero qualifications and even I know that's wrong.

For terminals that are going to be bolted, you are not wrong, but for direct-to-PCB as SparkyJJO pointed out, it's more difficult to implement. Yes, in an ideal world there would be a terminal on the PCB to bolt your lug to, but we play the cards we're dealt.
