Main Fuse and Circuit Breaker

Hey guys, I need to ask this goofy question here: Is the breaker and the main fuse interchangeable on a board for a system with 40amp controller , 1500 watt inverter and a 100 ah battery? Will has 2 videos for 400 watt solar systems and in one video the inverter connects to the main fuse, and the other video to the 50 A breaker.
I have a 200 A breaker to connect to the inverter, (1500-max3000) and a 40 A fuse to protect the controller. I will not use this inverter much or for large loads.
Will that do?
