Mini Split is a heat pump too right?

Mini Split is a heat pump too right? That said, before I installed my first mini split, I had a ton of questions. But now that I've done it, I have less questions.
But I went with a precharged line set mini-split so that I didn't have to deal with using a vacuum pump. Happy to say that my mini split is cooling my living room 18 hours a day (I have it on a timer), completely powered from solar and batteries. I have yet to turn on the heat side of things since it's still 95F here in Las Vegas today (Oct 21st).

Not every mini split is a heat pump also but most are.

They are all heat pumps.
But some of them only move heat in one direction.
From inside to outside.
