Looking to expand my single 165W setup and would like someone to confirm my math adding similar but not the same panels... and sanity check my approach
?

I currently have a single 165W Furrion module and found that a Renogy 175W has quite similar in specs. I'm planning to add 2x Renogy in series to the Furrion and then parallel a string of 3x Renogy in series for a total of 6x modules in 3s2p configuration. I have a Victron 150/100 MPPT installed already. (Module values below are all for max power)

  • Series 1: 18.72V/8.82A + 17.95V/9.75A + 17.95V/9.75A = 54.6V @ 8.82A (482W)
  • Series 2: 17.95V/9.75A +17.95V/9.75A +17.95V/9.75A = 53.9V @ 9.75A (525W)
  • Both strings in parallel: 53.9V @ 18.6A (1000W) instead of an ideal 1040W.
Does anyone see issues with this? As this is 96% of ideal production and I can reuse the existing panel and fit 5x more 175W modules on my roof I'm leaning towards this solution rather than rip & replace with all the same modules.

Thanks in advance folks -- this community is awesome!
