Here is my "portable" power bank running off-grid in a cottage. There is grid power too so this is more a learning/hobby project. I designed the aluminum frame and equipment layout in CAD.
Not the safest system: solar panel cables run to an anderson wall mount for decoupling and I have omitted the main power switch from the system for now so only using the fuse as power off switch.
It has been running now for a year and only problem is Multiplus overheating. I'll solve that by lowering the charge wattage. In winter I use this system to save some (euro) cents by charging when electricity is cheap.
Todo:
- finalize the protection for terminals and connectors
- add a 100W USB-adapter, similar to this low watt one
- Victron dongle for programming Multiplus
- maybe some gas springs for lifting the top
- maybe the main switch. Hate to add too many connection points
- some wheels for portability
