Need for BMS

120 Amp Hour 48V left for a day and was surprised when I came home to a expansion of batteries. I assume as when i took it all apart i found one battery with a short which raised the voltage of the other batteries causing this problem. I was having problems with the bus so I took it off a few days earlier. I have replaced the batteries that were bloated and installed a BMS that seems to be working.

Wow! I see 2 that blew the pressure relief.
This should be posted in up and smoke.
You should also have insulators between the cells.
I've said before running with no BMS = Bomb Making System...

Glad it wasn't worse. Wear PPE handled those burst cells.
