New Forum Feature... Ignore

So folks it looks like we have a new feature on diysolarforum! The ability to ignore.

It looks like most of it can be accessed from your https://diysolarforum.com/account/ignored . I tried to include photos of where the buttons are found. Maybe someone can find the tags part. I hope people put this to good use. Thanks Will!

It looks like you cannot ignore staff members :D

Here is a list of new features

Ignore Forums

• Allows users to ignore specific forums and hide their content.
• Ignored forums will not appear in view.

Ignore Threads

• Lets users hide unwanted threads from their view.
• Personalizes experience by allowing users to focus on content they care about.

Ignore Tags

• Enables users to ignore specific tags and hide related content.
• Ideal for users not interested in specific topics or categories.

Ignore Conversations

• Gives users the ability to block specific conversations and keep them hidden.
• Avoids conversations that are not relevant or of interest.

Ignore Users

• Allows users to ignore other users and hide their content.
• Ignored users' content will not show in various locations: widgets, newsfeeds, find news, forum listing, alerts, profile posts, etc...
• Ideal for avoiding content from users who consistently post material that is not of interest or is potentially offensive.
• 
• Looks like you access this from clicking on a users post.

Conversation Blockers

• Gives users the power to block unwanted conversations, ensuring they never see them again.
• Avoids conversations that are repetitive, spammy, or irrelevant.
• I haven't spent time figuring this one out

Privacy: Allow Ignored User to View User Profile

• Provides users with the option to allow ignored users to view their profile while keeping their content hidden.
• Gives users full control over their privacy.
• Looks like this is accessed from https://diysolarforum.com/account/privacy

It is. No point in wasting attention on things and people you have decided are not worth it. I use Mute on TV commercials and would block them if possible due to the annoyance factor. I use ignore on Forums for the same purpose.

I'm wondering what ignoring a category actually does.
I've used it to simplify the home page. To avoid scrolling to the categories that I most visit. But while I don't generally visit some categories. I do get summoned (by mentioning me) to them. If someone thinks that I could help.
I wonder if by ignoring the categories. I'm also blocking the notification of being mentioned in them.
If so, it would be nice to have a favorite categories feature. Placed at the top of the homepage.
I don't necessarily want to ignore those categories. I'm just using the function to organize the homepage.

Having the ignore button so prominently placed casts a shadow of negativity to diysolarforum.
