A local power company is offering a Peak Off-Peak power rate. Accordingly we can save as much as 35% in bills.
One building I administer consumes ~7,500 KWH monthly for common lights, AC, water pump, elevator.
I suggested to junk our 30-year-old generator and replace it with Inverter Generator that can charge at night and discharge at day to take advantage of the peak-off-peak power rates. Unfortunately, this building has small roof area and dwarfed by much taller ones on 4 sides. Solar is not an option.

In your experience, how effective are Powerwall in general? Do they live up to the hype? Do you save significantly if power company offers 35% off-peak rates? I figured it will take 15 years or longer for ROI.

What do you think?

Not really worth it if you have ~85-90% round-trip efficiency then that 35% savings might drop to 25% or less. you need the solar to offset those losses typically.
