I am trying to figure out the best option for a main battery disconnect (MBD) on my RV. I am just getting started building out an off grid solar system and I would appreciate any thoughts/ideas. Here are the options I have come up with but I am welcome to other suggestions.
Main Battery Disconnect Options
1) Use the breaker that is on the batteries
2) Combine the black wires from the batteries onto a busbar. Then add a single circuit on/off disconnect switch to the black wire leaving the busbar
3) Skip the busbar and run both black wires through a dual circuit on/off disconnect
I have two 48V 304AH LiFePo4 batteries that each have a circuit breaker. Besides the batteries, I do not have any of the components listed in the attached diagram yet but the diagram also shows my MBD ideas/options. Again, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
