I've looked at videos saying both approaches work to charge a Goal Zero 1500x using the alternator. The camper has a 190 watt solar panel, but I want the addition of alternator charging.
The GZ has an upper charging limit of 50 volts, 50 amps, and 600 watts. It looks like the advantage of the Renogy unit is that if I add more solar panels, I can connect to the Renogy rather than GZ. The Victron is only a charger.
They cost the same. Is the victron quality the deciding factor, or the ability of the renogy unit to include solar charging and the ability to pump more current into the GZ?
