Sol-Ark Without Internet

How long should a Sol-Ark inverter go without an internet connection? Is there a count-down timer that nags you to perform updates?

Not sure how they could advertise it being off grid capable if you have to have Internet.

It never requires an internet connection.

Updates do not happen often. Some people haven't updated in several years.

If it ain't broke. Don't update it.

I agree with @Lt.Dan. I have not even bothered with the latest updates because it already works perfectly, but if you don't have Internet and want an update you can order a special Dongle from Sol-Ark that has the latest update on it.

You do not need the Internet unless you want to run Powerview. The work around for remote monitoring without Powerview is to buy Solar Assistant and either run a direct LAN cable or use a WiFi connection.

Thanks everyone. My motive for asking was due to an unexpected Rapid ShutDown just after 5pm CDT December 9.

By coincidence, I just became aware of "Sunspot AR3511" which erupted on Dec. 8th (2307 UT), producing an M5-class solar flare and a
shortwave radio blackout. A bit of a stretch, I know, but the coincidence is intriguing.
