I built a solar ebike a year or so ago. It's been my daily commuter since then. It's got over 5k miles on it now.
Of all the solar projects I've ever done this is by far my favorite. It replaces my jeep entirely, except for trips over 40 miles or when I need to carry other people.
The panel charges enough for 15 - 20 miles per day depending on weather and the bike had made a 50 mile trip before.
I set my charge controller to only charge the battery to about 85% to keep the cycle life down on the battery.
