Attaching screenshots of my brief conversation with Timeusb, one of the more intriguing Chins/LiTime clone companies I’ve come across. I saw that Will tore down one of their previous batteries and it didn’t go well, but it looks like people are generally happy with them now. Looks like another case of a manufacturer appropriately responding to criticism and putting in the effort to make better products.

TL;DR, I wanted to know if their metal-enclosure 12V 220Ah batteries could be serviced by the user if necessary, and if low-temp protection could be added to the factory-installed BMS if desired. They gave the expected response that it would void the warranty, but ultimately stated that the answer is “yes” on both counts. They even offered to assist in the process: “We provide life-time technical support. And if you need help with this, we can show you how to do so if you accept to anull the warranty or if you want to do so after the warranty expires.”

I’m impressed, and I’d love to see @Will Prowse do another tear down of one of their new batteries (ideally the aforementioned one or the smart model).
