Hello, I have an old '87 RV I use for hunting and am upgrading the (2) 12v 100ah lead batteries to (2) 12v 100ah LiFePO4 batteries. The RV has the original converter (TU-730-2) so I know that has to be upgraded to properly charge the LiFePO4 batteries. I am considering the Progressive Dynamics PD9130LV (30-AMPS) model. I also have several 100watt solar panels I want to tie into system. Question is do I still need to upgrade converter if I buy a Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 100V 30 amp 12/24-Volt Solar Charge Controller? I will still need the ability to plug into 120v shore power when using AC and camping with hookups occasionally. I apreciate any insight and suggestions. Thank you!

The PD9130LV is Progressive's Lithium converter. It might be OK but it doesn't allow you to see or change parameters. I personally would use a Victron charger also so you can see the settings for it and the MPPT controller.

If I understand you correctly, I could keep the original converter with battery charging leads disconnected and use Victron charger instead for more reliable charging?
