Does anyone have any experience with the Valence Lithium Batteries U27-12XP 12v 138Ah battery? These batteries seem to be available used and at a lower price point than a new battery. Does anyone know if they have a good BMS with temperature cutoff. Can they be setup in a 24v configuration? I was considering using them in a solar system for my shed.

They're not drop-ins, thus their pricing. No BMS, though they do have internal cell monitoring and -when connected to a laptop running their software or to the external U-BMS that consumers can't buy- cell balancing as well, but they're very specifically NOT drop-in replacements.
Lots of workarounds have been discussed and implemented, though, just search this forum for "Valence" and you'll come up with all kinds of people doing interesting things with them and discussing the pros and cons of them.

That video is a bit misleading, as that battery is the RT version, which is a drop-in, not the XP version that the OP is inquiring about.
