While researching the MPPT controllers I see that battery temp can be critical and some of the CCs have a temperature sensor. I currently have a Victron BMV712 to monitor my RV batteries w/ bluetooth phone app and love it. I was thinking of using the Victron CC to set up my first ( yes Im a total noob ) solar system because Im already familiar with VictronConnect. But the fine print here Victron Networking says that some Victron CCs aren't compatible with VictronConnect so how do they get the battery temp information? Must these use the optional "Dongle" ?
Someone please straighten me out on this ! thnx
EDIT : I guess I answered my own question by using the Victron MPPT Sizing Calculator. It spit out the SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 and says it has blue tooth ( SCC110030210 ). Also I though with a 400w PV and 12v batteries ( 33 amps ) I would need a CC thats larger than 30 amps?
