What does the ethernet port do on the Victron energy meter

I'm getting around to ESS and configuring my Victron RV system to offset my house's power consumption. The plan is to have 4kw solar on the RV, plus 2kw solar on a trailer and maybe more on a ground station. These will plug into the RV's MPPTs 48V system which then will use the split phase pair of quattro 5kw's connected to a 50a/240v shore cable running 150ft+ to my house's electrical panel, then using an energy meter at the main breaker with ESS to monitor the grid load. When I disconnect and use the RV (like every weekend) I just won't be offsetting my house's power.

The problem is the panel is 150ft+ away and I'd like to avoid running Vecan network cable and having all that. Am I able to use Victron's ESS to pull the energy meter over ethernet? Hopefully then I can pull CT info over wifi to the RV's CerboGX. Is this possible?
