I believe, due to the interest and volume of people/posts, he needed to move to a new server and new install of new software. Yeah, its a pain, but notice how he has been watching the characteristics of the forum and determined it needed an upgrade

Exactly. The forum was hitting 1 million pageviews per month and would cost $400+ a month to operate. This server is unlimited in most regards and costs $25. We do not need donations anymore, and this one will be stable for years to come.

I hate that I had to do that, but now we are good to go!
