Where in this string should the grounding rod go (24V off-grid)?

What I have:

Three 2S 200 watt arrays feeding into a combiner box > Victron SmartSolar 150/45 > four 12.8 volt LiTime Minis, 2 ea. in series, then parallel > 2000watt inverter with two "built-in grounded AC" > strictly off-grid outlet with Romex "extension cord" to an off-grid outlet in another room

My brother is helping me with the wiring, and he confesses he knows just enough about electrical wiring to be dangerous. I'm telling him I think we don't need a grounding rod on both the DC and AC sides but, rather, one grounding rod somewhere in the above string where it will be most efficienly placed. And that's my quesiton: where to place the grounding rod in the above string? And am I correct that one grounding point is all that is needed? He wants also to ground the inverter. I've seen the videos on having only one earth ground in the whole system, so I don't think that's right; also the bit about checking whether the inverter is bonded or not.

Please help? He and I both are getting more and more confused.
