YiLink Battery and So-ark12k - BMS communications

I recently swapped out to the Sol-ark 12k inverter and have had a YiLink battery for some time. I would like to connect the BMS.

I have a few questions.
1. Do i need to shut down everything to connect them together (they are both currently running)
2. Will a regular ethernet cable work? If not, can I buy a cable from somewhere?
3. Is there anything I should know, I'm new at all this.

It turns out, this is incorrect information.
It took a new version of pbmstools (to set the protocol to Pylontech), and the included rj45 cable. I currently have communications, even though it does show a issue with communications, it seems to work well enough. I also got a firmware update for the BMS and another version of pbmstools.
